I had never heard of him before. And even though I had been given one of his books as a gift several years ago, it sat unread on my bookshelf.
But when I heard Grant Cardone on the Bigger Pockets podcast, I contacted his office and said, “Whatever it costs to have Grant speak, I want to book him now.”
Many of you know that my dream is to own the Cleveland Indians. It will cost me approximately $600 million to do so… or at least $100 million if I put together a group of investors for the rest.
I have always assumed that I would make my “Indians Money” with a killer business idea, and my long-term strategy is to a) own businesses that make millions in combination with b) investing in businesses that have the potential to make millions.
In the last year, I have started businesses that have grown exponentially, and everything that I do here on Freedom Fast Lane is designed to support the deal flow for investing in or starting new companies. There is a LOT going on behind the scenes that we’ll reveal in the coming months.
However, after hearing Grant talk for one hour, I realized that there was a piece of my strategy that was missing…
Grant owns $350 million in real estate. As soon as I heard that, I thought: “That would make a very healthy down payment on the Cleveland Indians.”
I currently invest in real estate for the tax writeoffs, the appreciation, and the cash flow. But my strategy has been in the “slow lane” for way too long. I had never considered it as part of my overall strategy for owning the Cleveland Indians.
I had been treating my real estate holdings as a long term “cash flow” investment. It had never occurred to me that a “tweak” in the strategy could provide just as much buying power as a big business breakthrough.
Immediately, I began to run the numbers: if I doubled the number of homes that I owned every year by leveraging what I had in place, I would control $100 million in real estate in ten years. HOLY CRAP.
That was when I picked up the phone and paid Grant Cardone to come speak at Freedom Fast Lane Live, which already featured Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec, Gary Vaynerchuk, and the billionaire co-founder of Priceline.com, Jeff Hoffman, as well industry thought leaders and my personal mentors.
I reached out to Grant because I want to “fast lane” my real estate investment plan to provide the same type of buying power that business does, and I’m willing to pay and do whatever it takes to expedite my plan to own the Indians. I personally expect Grant’s 90-minutes on stage to be worth many millions of dollars to my long term plan.
I can only imagine what it will be worth to the attendees, especially when combined with Gary Vaynerchuk, Robert Herjavec, Ryan Deiss, Pat Flynn, and the rest of the lineup of Freedom Fast Lane Live.
Some tickets are still available for the conference and the live stream, which is being held in Austin, TX on December 11-13th. Grab your tickets to meet Grant and the rest of the lineup here.
